Rev. Dr. Vernon Marshall is a professional Unitarian Minister currently serving the congregations of Dean Row Chapel, Wilmslow (http://ukunitarians.org.uk/deanrow) and Hale Chapel (www.halechapel.org.uk), in Hale Barns, Altrincham. Unitarianism is a faith arising out of Liberal Christianity that is inspired by all the world's great religions and that encourages everyone to find their own spiritual path through life. Unitarianism is inevitably a liberal and inclusive faith. As such Dr Marshall is available to conduct, not only weddings, baptisms and funerals, but also Blessings of Civil Partnerships, animal funerals, coming-of-age ceremonies and child namings. These can be conducted in homes or hired buildings if the chapels are not considered suitable. Each ceremony can be specially designed to suit the individual's needs and spiritual position.
Vernon Marshall came to the Unitarian ministry after training in teaching and now holds five degrees in various aspects of religious studies. He was one of the first to acquire a Doctor of Ministry degree from the University of Derby. He is also a writer on religious and spiritual subjects. His works include "In Praise of the Mystic Dancer" (2004) and "The Larger View: Unitarians and World Religions" (2007). He has written widely in "The Unitarian", "Faith and Freedom" and the "Unitarian Earth Spirit Network File". He has written also for the journal of the Unitarian Society for Psychical Studies owing to his interest in all psychical and spiritual matters.
Vernon Marshall also runs Chalice Healing Arts that provides Spiritual Healing, Reiki and Stress Counselling as well as training in Celtic Reiki, Usui Reiki, Spiritual Healing, Stress Management and Self-Development. Dr. Marshall himself has substantial training and experience in Counselling and Therapy and is a Member of the Associated Stress Consultants, an organisation that awarded him a Diploma in Stress Counselling. He also has an Advanced Diploma in Professional Stress Management awarded by the College of Integrated Therapies. He is a qualified Holistic Healer and a member of the World Federation of Healing. He is also a Master of both Usui Reiki and Celtic Reiki.

"Now middle-aged, I was born on Halloween in the South Yorkshire coal mining village of Moorends, near Doncaster. I have always had an interest in matters spiritual and spent my earlier years exploring many sacred paths. Eventually I became, and still am, a Unitarian minister. A few years ago I discovered I had a healing gift and undertook training for a Diploma in Holistic Healing, followed by training in the King Method and both Usui and Celtic Reiki. I have recently turned on to meditation and yoga from both of which I have drawn tremendous satisfaction. These have, along with a number of spiritual practices, helped me enormously with my long-term battle with depression. I am a keen nature-lover and spend time enjoying the trees and wild flowers whilst rambling in the Pennines".
